Today is Valentine's Day... a day in which people celebrate their love for each other. It's origins are shrouded in mystery, but are most likely a combination of being a feast day to St. Valentine and as well as a celebration to "Christianize" the festival of Lupercalia, a pagan festival of fertility. In any event, it has become a day to celebrate romance and love.
Our scripture reminds us that true love is sacrificial and unconditional, and that it is the greatest gift that God has given to us! Let us follow our LORD's example as we celebrate the love we have for those special people in our lives.
